Puppy Socialization (Puppies < 20 weeks)

While your puppy is under 5 months old, they are in their critical socialization period. They should be introduced in a safe, fun, positive way to a variety of sites, sounds, people, textures, and experiences. Expose your new puppy to the sounds of thunderstorms, door bells, and children’s games. Teach them that people of all shapes and sizes are good friends whether they are wearing a uniform, a flowing dress, or outfitted in a beard, glasses, and/or hat! Show your puppy that all kind of floors including tile, hardwood, grates, concrete, grass, and dirt are safe. This class is recommended twice per week and will explore more environments as your puppy’s vaccinations make them safe to venture out. New clients will need to attend one 60-minute seminar on basic canine cognition and the goals of puppy socialization.
Price / session (does not include seminar): $15

Basic Training (Dogs > 5 months)

Dogs over 5 months old are ready to start learning the basics: sit, lay down, hand target, name recognition, impulse control, and the foundations of emergency recall and loose leash walking. Ever just want your dog to look at you when you say their name? This class is for you! Do you think your dog understands what you want, but is “stubborn” or just “refuses” to do it? This is the right place! This class is a 6-week program which occurs one day per week and ends with a test showing off your dog’s new skills. Students will be required to attend one 90-minute seminar on the basics of operant conditioning and how we train dogs the right way (according to science)!
Price for 6 week course (includes seminar): $120

Intermediate Training (Graduates of Basic Training)

Now that you have the basics, it’s time to step it up. We will start adding in distance and duration to sit and lay down, learn sit for greetings, go to your place/mat/bed, and build on the foundations of impulse control, emergency recall, and loose leash walking taught in Basic Training. This 6-week program occurs one day per week and culminates with a test showing off your dog’s new skills. All students will be required to attend one 60-minute seminar on canine cognition and leash handling skills.
Price for 6 week course (includes seminar): $120

Recall 1 (Graduates of Basic Training)

Do you worry about your dog wriggling free of their harness and running off? How about dashing past you through the door? Are you afraid if your dog ever gets free you’ll never see them again? We can help! This 6-week course occurs once per week and builds on the foundations of emergency recall taught in Basic Training. Each week will challenge you and your dog to strengthen their emergency recall capabilities in environments of increasing distraction.
Price for 6-week course: $120

Introduction to Nosework (Graduates of Basic Training or By Trainer Approval)

If your dog could use a little boost of confidence, you want to become more aware of dog body language, or you just want to change up your training routine with something fun, this is the class for you. You’d be surprised how many dogs don’t naturally use their nose to explore their environment! This class will teach your dog to use their nose, build confidence, and teach you to watch, trust, and read your dog as they lead the way. This also becomes a new, fun game you can play with your dog inside when the weather doesn’t allow for physical exertion. (If you can’t tire the body, tire the mind!) Especially recommended for our shy or fearful canine friends.
Price for 6-week course: $120
